Local Sigma Theta Tau Receives Investment for Local Nurses
$10,000 Gift Strengthens Support for Nurses and Nursing Students
Arcata, CA — Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Omicron Omega Chapter 382, is honored to announce a generous $10,000 donation from the Mad River Community Hospital Volunteers, Inc., a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. MRCH Volunteers, Inc. is dedicated to supporting community health through philanthropy and service.
This contribution directly strengthens opportunities for local nurses and nursing students by funding scholarships, educational programs, and community‑building events.
“We are deeply grateful for this extraordinary generosity,” said a representative of Omicron Omega Chapter 382. “Support from the Mad River Community Hospital Volunteers, Inc. allows us to uplift local nurses, reduce financial barriers for nursing students, and create meaningful opportunities for learning, connection, and community.”
For nearly three decades, Omicron Omega Chapter 382—affiliated with Cal Poly Humboldt—has fostered scholarship, leadership, and collaboration among nurses. The chapter’s annual scholarships, professional development offerings, and its well‑loved Nurses Night Out gatherings welcome all nurses and nursing students in the region.
This donation ensures these programs continue to grow, strengthening the local nursing workforce and empowering the next generation of nurse leaders.
The chapter welcomes community partners and individuals who wish to support nursing excellence. To learn more about contributing, attending events, or exploring membership, please contact Omicron Omega Chapter 382 at STTIOmicronOmega@gmail.com.
